For the first time in industrial history, five generations are rubbing shoulders in the workplace. They share the same workspaces, collaborate on the same projects – they’re even managed by the same managers. But this is where the similarities end! Based on new research with some of the world’s leading organisations, a quiet revolution is rapidly transforming today’s multi-generational workplace. Gone are the age-old certainties and traditions of the Boomers, while the hopes and dreams of Generation X seem more distant than ever.

But does Generation Y have what it takes to realise the full promise of the 21st century? For business leaders, understanding generational differences is no longer an optional extra, but a business imperative. This lively, stimulating and engaging keynote will give delegates a direct insight into generational research and some of the challenges and opportunities it presents for senior leaders.

Delivered by one of the world’s leading experts on generational management, the presentation will offer a unique insight into some of the core concepts and models from the latest generational research.

It will also help you get on better with your teenage kids.

Short version of presentation will follow shortly.

Summary:
Did you know nurses are the most active professional category on Facebook? If you want to hire them, you should definitely reach out to them there. But most companies in the healthcare sector are very reluctant to do so. They lack the big marketing departments other major employers have and they demand the utmost discretion from their employees. Encouraging them to be active on social media seems a bit contradictory then. Or is it? Elisah and Els will give you lots of tips and advice on how to prevent pitfalls and how to make sure you have an efficient and legally sound social media policy. This way you can take full advantage of the benefits e-recruitment has to offer without having to be afraid of the consequences of being active on social media. And they’ll offer advice for free this time.  Make sure you bring your questions with you!

Innovation and technology within e-recruitment
Steven Z. Ehrlich - TMP Worldwide

TMP Worldwide's Steven Z. Ehrlich (@99GR81) is a fizzing, over-caffeinated whirlwind. That’s not a bad thing. Just spend just five minutes in his company and you’ll catch a dose of his infectious enthusiasm for all things digital. Splitting his time between London and New York, Steve works closely with agency teams around the world to explore, develop, and implement strategic initiatives leveraging social media, new technologies and innovative employer brand delivery channels for clients including Boeing, Deloitte, Disney, Mondelez, P&G, and Walmart to name a few.

Steven was recently named one of HR Marketer’s “Top 25 Online Influencers in Recruiting.”

TMP Worldwide is a global leader in the recruitment communications space, leveraging software, advertising and creativity to develop and deploy clients’ employer brands across digital, social, and mobile outlets.

Today, it’s not just a question of how well you manage your digital channels, but how well you manage what these increasingly open channels reveal about your employer brand experience. With sites like Glassdoor, Indeed, Twitter, Facebook, and more, social media has changed the concept of content forever. Not just what the content is, but who creates it and, more importantly, how and where it is posted and by whom. Steve’s presentation will explore the need for innovation, the changing recruitment landscape, and the impact of technology and psychology on candidate needs and behaviors.

If you want to connect with Steve before, during, or after the event, you can find him @99GR81 on both Twitter and Instagram and, of course, on LinkedIn.

Semantic search & matching
Filip De Geijter - Actonomy

Biography:
Filip De Geijter is CEO of Actonomy, a company that he co-founded back in 2001 and that was amongst the pioneers of semantic search & matching technology. He holds a Master degree in Engineering and in Economics and has spend his career in senior postions in sales, marketing and business management in an international environment.  Filip De Geijter previously worked for technology companies such as Barco, Lernout&Hauspie, Dialogic, IPG.

Summary:
Semantic search & matching technology is no longer a nice-to-have feature of modern recruitment software!  As a technology that improves the efficiency of the sourcing and selection process, semantic technology allows to find better candidates in a much faster way.

As sementic technology understands the content of profile (candidate or vacancy profile), it allows finding the best candidates and retrieving profiles from different sources in a more efficient way than human beings can do!

The presentation will give an overview of how technology will help the recruiter in screening candidate profiles, in speeding up the sourcing process and in providing an insight in the profile and how it relates to the job requirements (GAP analyses).

Jaap Rip

Jaap Rip

Case study on total social recruitment concept for bol.com
Leon Willemsens (Netwerven) & Jaap Rip (Bol.com)

Biography:
Leon Willemsens - Director Netwerven
Educated and worked as a controller for Unilever and Shell, but never felt true love for accounting standards. Thus, I decided to quit the finance path. In the second half of my career I explored several jobs in the field of recruitment and employer branding, and I sometimes missed my spreadsheets.

After a while it struck me that my added value is right in between. That's why I co-founded Netwerven in 2006. Now, Netwerven employs about 50 people from 9 countries and we help our (inter)national customers to calculate the ROI and the Why behind their hire process.

Jaap Rip - Manager Talent Acquisition & Development @bol.com
As Manager Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding, I am responsible for the entire recruitment & selection process, Employer Branding and Employer Value Proposition.

This includes developing recruitment strategy, managing recruitment team, budget, international recruitment, tracking cost per hire, time to fill, recruitment analytics and reports, contract negotiations, internal and social referral program, implementing CEB/SHL Talent Management System and responsible for the right important KPI: Quality of Hire.

Summary:
Bol.com is second on the list of Dutch brands people can't live without anymore. It is a great joy and reward for all the Bol.com employees who help to achieve this. But every coin has a flipside. If you have a popular and outspoken brand as Bol.com, a lot of people want to work for you. That's a good thing, but we can't hire them all. So, unfortunately we have to disappointment most of our applicants. In order not to loose them as customers, we constantly have to find ways to communicate efficiently and within expectations of our customers and clients. Due to our nature, it all starts (and sometimes ends) at the Bol.com career platform: https://banen.bol.com

In our presentation we will gladly discuss our strategy, assumptions, analytics, results and tips & tricks of this newly built site.

The Playful Workplace - Gamification for the Corporate World
Peter Filak - games for business

Biography:
Peter Filak, Business Development Director, Games for Business
Peter is currently expanding the client base of online gamified solutions developed by Games for Business. He is also looking for professional partners to cooperate on joint projects, especially among European HR consultancy firms. Peter has been involved in the development of gamification based solutions for HR purposes since 2010, including recruitment games for multinational corporations and higher education institutions. He participated in the recruitment and selection processes at a multinational corporation, and gained valuable experience as team leader. Peter has earned the Coursera Verified Certificate in Professor Werbach’s Gamification class. He enjoys participating at international conferences where he follows the latest trends in employer branding, recruitment, selection, and training.

Summary:

The Playful Workplace – Gamification for the Corporate World

Gamification was listed among the Top10 Technology Trends in PwC’s 2013 survey, nevertheless, its application in the field of HR still counts as rather peculiar. Yet, existing experience is promising: gamification revolutionizes our thinking about technology, and provides novel answers to the workplace expectations of Generation Y and beyond. Gamification is able to transform our view of the employer brand, it opens the gate to more efficient recruitment processes, and takes a spin on corporate training.

This session will examine the potential in gamification as a methodology. What makes it work and how does it achieve results? The presentation is intended to be an eye-opener to show how this innovative approach can be applied in corporate environments.

“How are young graduates looking for a job and how are companies trying to find young graduates?” This survey, which was part of Justine Leclef’s master thesis, was the basis of an in-depth study of applying and recruiting behavior that generated some intriguing results. During the e-recruitment congress we’ll provide you a summary of the results and their implications on practical recruitment. Knowing how people are looking for a job and what makes them apply is one thing, but how to actually gain benefit from that knowledge is another.
